The trip goes to Belize! The 3rd release in the Terra Verra series, for the first time under the name Planteray, is a gorgeous 15 year old rum from the tropical paradise of Belize. It was distilled in 2008 at the Travelers Distillery, and then spent a full 13 years of tropical aging in bourbon casks, after which the rum was moved to Javrezac in south-west France, to continue aging for a further 2 years in cognac casks. It is bottled at 48.3% alcohol and 8 grams of sugar per liter have been added. A bang of a rum!
Color : Amber.
Smell : A smell almost of old bourbon with intense, spicy notes of cinnamon, vanilla pods, nutmeg, roasted almonds, cocoa and honey.
Tasting notes : Lots of power, rich and creamy with a slight hint of sweetness, which accompanies big notes of dried fruit, caramel, coconut, tobacco and banana.
Serving suggestion : Should be enjoyed neat.
