Old English Sloe Gin is made on a base of Old English Gin and sloe berries from the local area of the Vintre Møller distillery in Kirke Såby. The sloe berries are picked in autumn when they are ripe. They then infuse the gin for 4-6 months. Just before bottling, sugar is added and thus it becomes gin liqueur.

About Sloe Gin
Sloe Gin is not a gin, but a liqueur.
Legislation in the EU states that the definition of gin is an alcohol percentage of at least 37.5% ABV and the dominant flavor must be juniper.
Sloe Gin is generally at a strength of 30% ABV, the sugar content is 10% and the dominant flavor comes from sloe berries - and of course the gin.
