An impressive old port from the king of colheita: Barros. After 60 years of aging in old oak casks, this princely wine has become a monster of complexity with an abysmal aroma that evokes dark chocolate, candied nuts and ripe strawberries.
Colour: Deep golden brown.
Aroma: A cornucopia of good, dark chocolate, strawberry compote, dried fruit, caramel and walnuts.
Tasting notes: A nice union of power and finesse, with a silky texture and a long, intense taste.
Serving suggestion: A wine for special moments. Enjoy slightly chilled.

Barros has existed since 1913 and is the result of the Douro terroir and grapes as well as their skilled winemaking team working their magic in the wine cellar. And according to Casa Barros, their Port wines are a symbol of the best from Portugal - and Port wines that combine both experience and innovation.
Fragrance and taste notes:
This port wine from Barros offers a seductive and complex aroma with notes of especially dried fruits combined with spicy notes. It has a good balance and fullness - as well as a long aftertaste.
Serving suggestion:
You can, for example, serve it with desserts, cake, dried fruit - or just as a good glass of port wine.
Barros Vintage Port 2005 75 cl. 20%
The Barros 2005 vintage has a very solid, lively rosy color and a nose with a fresh, almost herbal edge to bright raspberries and vinous fruit, in a style that immediately suggests this is a lighter, fresher style of Port. On the palate there is plenty of sweetness, with cassis and ripe, sweet liquid cherries, but also a hint of raisin and date-like fruit. Some silky, vanilla and thick plum support emerges in the finish, but so does some quite poignant tannin and again a slight spirity edge in a wine that might become a little more harmonious with time in bottle.
Barros was founded in 1913 by Manuel de Almeida, then under the name Almeida & Ca.
