Glenmorangie 18 Years Old is a Scottish single malt whiskey from the Highland region. When the whiskey has spent the first 15 years in bourbon casks, approximately 30% is taken away and placed in Spanish oloroso sherry casks. 3 years later, when both components have reached "authority", the casks are mixed together again, and the result is a full and rounded whiskey with aromas of nuts and raisins. Glenmorangie 18 Years Old is bottled at 43% alcohol.
Colour: Amber.
Aroma: Rounded, sweet and floral in the aroma with orange blossom, cocoa and malt.
Tasting notes: The taste shows honey, figs and raisins, with a dry, nutty aftertaste.
Serving suggestion: Should be enjoyed neat.
Glenmorangie is known for having Scotland's tallest stills. The tall cauldrons provide increased contact between the spirit and the copper, and this has a marked effect on the taste of the final whisky, which becomes lighter and more elegant.
