Description:
Elegant and full-bodied, this 12 year whiskey from Glenmorangie has spent 10 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks before being further matured for a further two years in Oloroso and PX sherry casks from Jerez in Spain.
Lasanta is Gaelic for warmth and passion, a reminder not just of Spanish ancestry but also a reflection of a luxurious expression with soft texture and a deep tantalizing sweet aroma. The aroma is of warm spices mixed with chocolate and raisins, as well as a honey scent with caramel notes. The taste is sherry sweet, with orange segments, walnuts and a toffee combined with the complex warm spices. The whiskey has a long and satisfying finish of oranges, chocolate and hazelnuts.
Glenmorangie is known for having Scotland's tallest stills. The tall cauldrons provide increased contact between the spirit and the copper, and this has a marked effect on the taste of the final whisky, which becomes lighter and more elegant.
