The signature is a fusion of unique and rare elements and the culmination of a lifetime of experience. It is a blend of Glenmorangie Distillery's oldest whiskeys and spirits, aged in a selection of the world's finest casks. This is undoubtedly the richest whiskey in the distillery's range.
Although the exact secrets of production are known only to the distillery's whisky-makers, we do know that Signet's melting sweetness and explosive spice is due in part to their unique roasted "chocolate" barley malt and custom-designed American white oak casks, custom-made for Glenmorangie.
In the aroma, you can sense strong Aruba espresso fused with a syrupy plum pudding, rich in sherry and candied orange peel. In the taste, you sense contrasts of rich sweetness, an explosive spice and bitter mocha. The aftertaste hits with a fresh, spring-like breeze of mint and citrus fruits.
Glenmorangie is known for having Scotland's tallest stills. The tall cauldrons provide increased contact between the spirit and the copper, and this has a marked effect on the taste of the final whisky, which becomes lighter and more elegant.
