Inspired by the ever-changing natural wonder he encounters when hiking in the woods near his home, Director of Whiskey Creation, Dr. Bill Lumsden, an ancient method of infusing barley with botanicals returns to this limited edition release.
Evoking the scents, sounds and sights of the forest, this experimental single malt is truly unique.
There is a hint of background smoke, a sharpness from juniper and some floral notes of lavender and pine, all intertwined with Glenmorangie's signature citrus notes.
These fragrant, wooded depths inspired illustrator Pomme Chan to dream up a fantastical forest, showcased in vivid glory on the label and gift box.
Nose: A green bouquet of pine, juniper and coriander, along with roasted chestnut and an exciting whisper of smoke.
Taste: When you sip, the flavors explode in your mouth - think swirls of peppermint, bursts of eucalyptus and hints of bitter orange, vanilla and licorice, drifting to a slow and delicious finish with lemon, orange and a touch of oak.
Glenmorangie is known for having Scotland's tallest stills. The tall cauldrons provide increased contact between the spirit and the copper, and this has a marked effect on the taste of the final whisky, which becomes lighter and more elegant.
