This is the 2nd release in the series and features a single malt whiskey aged for 14 years in aromatic Madeira casks as well as in former Bourbon casks characteristic of the Ardbeg style.
The Anthology collection is an expression of Ardbeg's expertise and innovation through experimental ageing, blending classic Ardbeg peat and smoke with softer, more delicate notes. This is the 2nd release in the series and features a single malt whiskey aged for 14 years in aromatic Madeira casks as well as in former Bourbon casks characteristic of the Ardbeg style. Experience a complex whiskey with rich and delicious notes of banana bread, enhanced by toasted cedar, revealed by tart flavors of lemon and smoked fruit.
Color: Pure gold
Nose: A rich, sweet, aromatic and fruity nose. Notes of molasses transform into a characteristic scent of cedar wood. A drop of water releases an abundance of tropical fruits. Eucalyptus oil is mixed with a sweet and aromatic smoke.
Taste: On the palate spicy notes of lime and sweet peaches. What follows is an explosion of rich smoky fruit and baked bread, creosote and anise. Sweet barley malt is combined with nutmeg and peat.
Finish: The notes from the rare Madeira barrels are undeniable. A smoky, long and lingering finish of menthol, cloves, wood smoke and camphor.
