The house of Deutz & Geldermann was founded by William Deutz and Pierre Geldermann in 1838 in the town of Aÿ in Champagne. From the beginning, William Deutz and Pierre Geldermann laid out a line where quality was the primary concern, a line that has since been followed up by the current director André Lallier, great-grandson of William Deutz.
Thus, since the founding of the "Syndicat des Grandes Marques de Champagne" in 1882, Deutz has been an active member of this exclusive organization consisting of the 20 best houses, known for their quality in both France and the rest of the world, where luxury champagnes are enjoyed.
