Taste and smell
The Macallan 18 Years Old is the iconic focal point of The Macallan's core: the Sherry Oak range. The natural oils are balanced against the strong tannins from the oak and together create a whiskey with a particularly full body. The Macallan Sherry Oak 18 Years Old is aged for a minimum of 18 years in 100% sherry casks from Jerez in Spain. This is a powerful whiskey with an intense, natural colour.

The distillery
An obsession with quality has characterized The Macallan since its founding by Alexander Reid on a plateau above the River Spey in north-east Scotland. The distillery is surrounded by a 485 hectare estate with Easter Elchies House at its heart.
