A well-balanced scent of honey and red fruits
Selección de Familia is a dark rum aged up to 12 years in carefully selected casks. The rum is slightly drier, more complex and spicy than their signature Reserva Exclusiva but still retains the soft rounded style that has made Diplomático rum so popular.

The production
Primarily distilled in copper pot stills, which gives complexity. In addition, it is blended with approx. 10% rum that is distilled on a "batch kettle" and column distilled. After distillation, the rum is stored in American white oak casks. The best casks are then selected for subsequent aging in old Bourbon, whiskey and sherry casks. Their own produced dosage is added here, so that the finished rum contains 20g/l.

Smell and taste
Lower dosage and notes of wood and plum. A well-balanced scent of honey and red fruits followed by vanilla and oak notes. In the taste there are notes of wood and plums combined with caramel and a long rounded aftertaste.
