RD 2007 - the year's biggest release from Bollinger, with two enormously beautiful ratings of 97 points given by Parker and Vinous and a storage potential of +2039, it has become one of the year's most sought-after champagnes in record time.
Smell and taste
A light golden color with a fantastic nose of pears, apples and hints of lemon. A wonderful freshness on the palate is combined with caramel, honey and toasted brioche. A finely balanced acidity compliments a creamy mousse structure and right to the finish there are underlying chocolate and hazelnut characters. A fantastic champagne from a very rewarding year.
The story
Bollinger RD is vintage Champagne, where Bollinger continuously selects the greatest vintages to age for an extra long time. Bollinger normal vintage champagne La Grande Année lies in their cellars for approx. 8 years, where against the RD is a whopping 12.5 years, which gives an extremely great complexity and fullness to the Champagne.
Bollinger Champagne
Champagne Bollinger is one of the most respected landmarks of quality and luxury, and the house's track record for consistent top quality is second to none. Bollinger is the foremost exponent of the Pinot Noir grape in Champagne. Most of the house's wines contain about 2/3 Pinot Noir, and therefore the Bollinger wines are stronger than most other Champagnes. The proportion of grapes from Bollinger's own 1st Cru and Grand Cru fields is extremely high in the wines.
