Description

Veuve Clicquot is known for having one of the largest collections of reserve wine, which they use in many of their non-vintage champagnes, but in 2017 they introduced the "Extra Brut Extra Old" Champagne range, which was to be made exclusively from reserve wine , which means that the champagne will have more depth, character and aging potential.

Since 2017, Veuve Clicquot has launched 3 editions and today we are at the third, hence the name Extra Brut Extra Old 3. and it is made up of reserve wine from 8 extraordinary years: 1990, 1998, 1999, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013 and 2014. In addition, it has been aged twice, first in large vats for several years and then in bottle for 3 years before disgorging, after which it has spent another 1 year in bottle before release.

A precise Champagne made for wine lovers with a storage potential of more than 15 years, which brings all the precision and liveliness of a rare and complex Champagne.

Veuve Cliquot's former cellar master Demarville has said that he does not intend for this champagne to be a high-volume production, commenting: "We can't use all the best reserve wines; we need them for the Yellow Label." Therefore, only 30,000 bottles have been produced.

FOUNDED IN 1772

Veuve Clicquot

The champagne house Veuve Clicquot was founded in 1772 and in 1805 Madame Clicquot took over the house when her husband died suddenly of a high fever. Veuve means widow in French, which is why the house is today called Veuve Clicquot. Did you also know that Madame Clicquot invented Rosé champagne - the one where you mix white and red wine? She quickly became known as the "Grande Dame of Champagne".
