Exquisite pale rum from the giant Diplomatico

Diplomatico Planas is a light rum from Venezula. It is aged between 2-6 years and then filtered through a charcoal filter to extract the color from the aged rum. The result is a light rum that contains many of the same notes as an aged dark rum. The high alcohol percentage also means that it is more potent and strong in taste. This makes it particularly suitable for cocktails.

The experience

Planas is surprisingly intense and rich in tropical aromas such as freshly ground coffee and coconut. The taste is slightly fruity, and the rum is particularly soft despite the relatively high alcohol percentage. The aftertaste is long and offers a multitude of delicate nuances.
