30 YEAR OLD 2019 SPRING RELEASE 45.2% 70cl. gift set of two whiskey glasses

Highland Park 2019 Spring Release 30 yo is a complex expression created from fewer than 20 casks produced in 1989 and earlier years, our Spring 2019 release is the rare result of a trio of different cask types.

History of the whisky
Master Whiskey Maker Gordon Motion took the unusual step of collecting 3 different cask types for this release. For sweet notes of vanilla and honey with hints of sharp citrus, he chose ex-bourbon casks; to add rich layers of fruit and warm spice, the famous sherry-aged European oak casks were carefully selected; and finally a small but vital number of Refill casks were used to round off the harmony of flavours

Smell & Taste
The whiskey contains the fudge-like sweetness that characterizes the longest aged Highland Park whiskies, but here the sweetness is combined with a complex aroma of warm spices, orange, dark chocolate and notes of floral peat. Highland Park 2019 Spring Release 30 yo has a dry finish and leaves a taste of aromatic peat and a welcoming hint of mild sea air – the result of 30 years aging in Orkney's windswept climate.
